Steinway Society Performance

Andrew Prudente and Dr. Charles Turon of State Florida perform Rachmaninoff April 2010 for the Steinway Society. Seven local young artist in all performed, brilliantly.

Contact Pritchards To purchase the movie !The award winning film was recently viewed by the Sarasota Steinway Society and invited guests. The film won best documentary at the Sarasota Film Festival. The film shows the one year construction processes of the Steinway piano from the forest to the concert stage. Stay tuned a viewing is scheduled in April 2009 .

Steinway Trained Piano Technician

Ken Snow is our full-time piano technician. He has passed rigorous tests and is a member of the Piano Technicians Guild. Ken has had factory training by major piano manufacturers and is qualified to install Piano Disc player systems. Ken has been a piano tuner/technician for 32 years.

Dave Pritchard

Dave Pritchard, owner, is a 33-year veteran of the keyboard product industry. He took over ownership of his family's business in 1989. Its original store location in Sarasota, with its unique piano-shaped sign and keyboard awning, make it a Sarasota landmark since 1967. His Venice location has been in operation since 1977.

Derek Han Donates to the Sarasota Steinway Society

Steinway artist Derek Han made an appearance at Pritchards recently . Derek graciously donated his time and the proceeds from CD sales to the Sarasota Steinway Society . A charitable organization .

Steinway Society Event

15 year old Vera Higgs and Jonathan Spivey performed for the Sarasota Steinway Sociey June 8. Rachmaninoff Concerto #2 in C minor movement #1, performed as this picture was taken .

Expert Piano and Organ Delivery

Pritchards delivery crew are experienced and are specially trained to know how to deliver any type of piano or organ. See Pritchard delivery men in action delivering a disassembled Steinway Grand with the help of a crane.

Piano moving experts

Trace the steps involved in moving a full sized grand piano. The piano must be fully padded and a special dolly with wheels attached should be positioned next to the piano.

Next if the lyre of the piano is strudy enough to hold the piano's weight a moving pad is placed under the lyre, the bass leg is removed and the piano is carfully pivoted to the dolly

Turned on side

The piano is placed on the flat side and strapped the custom made dolly.

Heavy duty ramp

A heavy duty ramp rated for weight up to 1000 pounds is placed over steps to insure a smooth decline to the sidewalk.

Must be very careful. Must be steered from both sides by men who are strong and care about the instrument.

Lift gate and Ramp

Pritchards uses a lift gate truck for all pianos under seven feet in length. This piano was over seven feet long so a 2500 pound rated ramp was used. Don't even think of trying this yourself. Let Pritchards piano moving experts help you if you need your piano moved.

Piano rentals

We maintain a fleet of rental pianos, from the smallest spinet to a Steinway Concert Grand. We rent by the day, month or year.
